Compress Office Documents to Reduce Size

Placing images in MS Word or PowerPoint can cause those files to become quite large in size.

This can make it difficult for users on a wireless or slower network to access and open these documents.

Instructors can compress images in Word and PowerPoint to reduce the size of their course content files. In most cases, this has little impact on the quality of the images displayed on a user's screen.

Students can compress the size of assignments they submit in Canvas. In some instances, the compressed file an be one tenth the size of the original file.
